Using the website
These terms apply to the Old Major Comics website, online purchases, pickup holds, and pull-list requests. By submitting an order or request, the customer agrees to provide accurate information and use the service only for lawful personal shopping. The shop may refuse or cancel abusive, fraudulent, mistaken, or unauthorized activity.
Online purchases
Online payments are completed on Square’s hosted checkout. An order is accepted only after Square confirms a completed payment and the shop’s system matches the payment amount, currency, and Square order. A browser message, pending checkout, or card authorization by itself is not final confirmation. Square sends the buyer’s digital payment receipt to the contact information provided at checkout.
Prices and sales tax
Shelf prices are shown before sales tax. Square calculates and displays the shop’s configured sales tax before the customer authorizes an online payment. The final Square checkout total controls. If a pricing, tax, description, or inventory error is discovered, the shop may cancel and refund the affected order rather than fulfill it at an incorrect amount, subject to applicable law.
Pickup and pay-in-store holds
The website offers local pickup only; it does not promise shipping or delivery. A pay-in-store choice creates an unpaid inventory hold, not a completed sale. It has no automatic time limit and remains until the shop confirms in-store payment or removes the hold. The shop may remove an abandoned or mistaken hold at its discretion, and removing it returns the copies to available stock. The customer is not charged for a removed unpaid hold.
Availability and order cancellation
Quantities are checked and reserved on the server, but collectibles can be misplaced, damaged, sold in the physical store, or listed incorrectly. The shop may cancel an unpaid checkout, decline a hold, limit quantities, or cancel and refund a paid order it cannot fulfill. Customers should contact the shop promptly if they need an unpaid checkout or hold cancelled.
Returns and refunds
Return eligibility is determined by the shop’s posted or communicated return policy and applicable law. An approved online refund is submitted through Square to the original payment method for the full recorded order total, including the tax charged on that order. Bank or card processing times are controlled by Square and the customer’s financial institution. Stock is restored only after Square reports that the refund completed. In-store payments are refunded only after the shop confirms that the money was returned.
Collectibles and condition
Comics, figures, back issues, and other collectibles can have manufacturing variations or age-related wear. Published photos, condition notes, and descriptions form part of the listing, but screens and photographs may not show every minor detail. Ask the shop before purchase if a particular grade, defect, printing, completeness, or packaging detail is important.
Pull-list requests
A pull-list request is not a purchase, payment, reservation, or guarantee that a title will arrive. The shop separately confirms availability and pickup. Customers remain responsible for reviewing that confirmation before traveling to the store.
Third-party services
Square, Google, Supabase, Vercel, card networks, and financial institutions provide parts of the service under their own terms. Old Major Comics is not responsible for an outage, delay, decline, receipt preference, or account action controlled solely by those providers, but the shop will reasonably help reconcile its own order records.
Disclaimers and limits
To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided as available without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Old Major Comics is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law does not permit the shop to limit.
Texas law and changes
These terms are governed by Texas law, without overriding any consumer protection that applies to the customer. Disputes concerning the shop or a local pickup are subject to the courts with proper jurisdiction in El Paso County, Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise. The shop may update these terms for future activity; the terms shown when an order is submitted apply to that order.
Intellectual property
Publisher names, character names, logos, and artwork belong to their respective owners. Old Major Comics is an independent retailer and does not claim affiliation with those rights holders.
