Information the shop collects
Old Major Comics collects only the information needed to run the shop’s website. This can include a name, email address, or phone number supplied for a pull-list request or pay-in-store hold; the books and quantities requested; order, price, tax, payment, refund, pickup, and inventory status; and limited Square order, payment, and refund identifiers. The shop does not receive or store a card number, card security code, or full bank information.
Square payments and receipts
Online checkout is hosted and processed by Square. Card and wallet details are entered on Square’s page, not this website. Square calculates any configured sales tax, processes the payment or refund, and may collect an email address or phone number to send a digital receipt and provide Square buyer features. Square handles that information under its buyer privacy notice. The shop receives signed payment and refund status notices so it can update an order and its stock.
Accounts and technical information
Customer sign-in is optional and uses Google through Supabase Auth. If used, the shop receives the confirmed email address and basic profile name needed to link that customer’s own pull-list requests. Google handles the sign-in under its privacy policy. The website and its service providers may also process ordinary security and diagnostic data such as IP address, browser type, request time, error information, and session cookies.
How information is used
Information is used to fulfill and reconcile purchases, calculate and record totals, manage pickup holds and refunds, answer pull-list requests, maintain accurate stock, secure the owner area, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and comply with tax, accounting, or legal obligations. Old Major Comics does not sell personal information or use payment information for unrelated advertising.
Service providers
The website uses Square for payment processing and receipts, Supabase for the private database and optional sign-in, Vercel for hosting and security logs, and Google only when a customer chooses Google sign-in. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect customers or the shop, or in connection with a legitimate transfer of the business.
Retention and security
Order, payment-reference, refund, and tax records may be kept for accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements. Pull-list and hold information is kept while needed to provide the requested service or until it is removed, subject to required records and backups. The site uses access controls, private server credentials, row-level database security, signed Square webhooks, and encrypted connections. No online system can promise absolute security.
Your choices
Customers may ask the shop to access, correct, or delete information the shop controls by using the published store contact information. A customer can also withdraw a pull-list request or use the account removal controls where available. Some financial, security, backup, or legal records cannot be deleted immediately. Receipt and Square buyer preferences are managed directly with Square.
Children and changes
The website is a general retail service and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact the shop if they believe a child submitted personal information. This policy may be updated when the shop’s practices or service providers change; the “Last reviewed” date shows the current version.
